Ik twijfelde even of ie nou in "concept cars" moest of hier. Prototype is in Japan vaker dat het model eigenlijk af is. Deze heeft ook gewone spiegels, handgrepen e.d. Dit zagen we ook bij de Prelude prototype, er zijn dan soms later nog kleine wijzigingen. Als het nodig is kan ie nog verplaatst worden.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled the prototype of its next-generation battery EV, the Honda 0 α, for the first time in the world at the Honda booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 (open to the public from October 31st to November 9th).

The Honda 0 α is an SUV that aims to blend beautifully into both urban and natural environments, and to be a companion to people in all situations. Following the Honda 0 SALOON and Honda 0 SUV, which were announced at CES 2025 in January 2025, this new model joins the lineup as a "gateway model" that serves as an entry point into the world of the Honda 0 series, and is characterized by its sophisticated design and high comfort thanks to its spacious interior.

The mass-produced model of the Honda 0 α will be equipped with technology that embodies the Honda 0 series development approach of "Thin, Light, and Wise," and is scheduled to be sold globally from 2027, primarily in Japan and India.

Conventioneel en mooi is de auto alvast niet, wel bijzonder. Ben benieuwd of deze ook naar Europa komt, bij het eerdere studiemodel was daar nog wel sprake van.

Jeetje. Dit topic past met de kennis van nu dan beter in concept cars.
Ben wel benieuwd welk alternatief Honda heeft. De elektrificatie stopt niet ineens in Europa. Toch maar intensief samenwerken met Nissan? Krijgen we in Europa ook de Insight (doe maar niet ) of de wél acceptabele Honda P7 of S7. Techniek lenen van één van de twee Chinese partners van Honda (GAC en Dongfeng) is misschien de veiligste weg, naar voorbeeld van Toyota, Mazda en Nissan.

"One positive, though, is that Honda will continue with its 0 Alpha SUV that’s currently in development for Asian markets such as India and Japan. This suggests that the Series 0 ethos isn’t completely dead, only that the models – as we knew them – won’t come to fruition."

De grotere 0-serie modellen komen niet. Dus als het meezit (voor bijvoorbeeld Honda Noorwegen die nu alleen de niet-competitieve e:Ny1 kan aanbieden op een markt waar 98% van de nieuwe auto's volledig elektrisch is) komt deze compacte SUV wel naar Europa.

De grotere 0-serie modellen komen niet. Dus als het meezit (voor bijvoorbeeld Honda Noorwegen die nu alleen de niet-competitieve e:Ny1 kan aanbieden op een markt waar 98% van de nieuwe auto's volledig elektrisch is) komt deze compacte SUV wel naar Europa.

Blij dat er in ieder geval iets van nuance is, zeker in tijden van alle sensatie in de media tegenwoordig.

Moet zeggen, de 0-series prototypes zagen ook een beetje te bizar uit voor massaproductie. Zelfs als het niet gecanceled was, denk ik dat het alsnog een flop werd.
